That Tree Shot Again

I hadn't taken any photos for a while and was determined to get something today, even if it meant going over old ground; so I did.

I decided what gear I was going to take with me. I wanted to travel light, so just grabbed my Canon 40D with my Vivitar Series 1 35-85mm F2.8 lens and also my Zeiss 135mm just incase I needed something longer.

For the shots below, I only used the Vivitar, with a circular polariser attached to saturate the afternoon sky. The 1st one is shot at 35mm using an aperture of F8 at to keep enough of the tree and surrounding land in focus.

The 2nd one I took from in close to get the detail of the bark. It is shot at 85mm using an aperture of F2.8 to throw the background out of focus.
